Guizhou Province-based Chinese steelmaker Shuicheng Iron and Steel (Group) Co., a subsidiary of major Chinese steel producer Shougang Group, has announced that in the January-September period of the current year its crude steel output totaled 3.61 million mt, while it produced 3.43 million mt of pig iron and 3.55 million mt of finished steel.
In the January-September period Shuicheng Steel achieved a total cost reduction of RMB 1.342 billion ($213 million), while its costs in September were down RMB 167 million ($26.5 million), both compared to the corresponding periods of the previous year.
